Just found out about these folks about a year and a half ago via Scott Alexander and it’s been an absolute delight. I’m an AI safety dork (understatement) and it’s nice to go to a place where you can have actual discussions with people about that.
I was there from the early days, back when I was in college, before The Motte was called The Motte. This band of wordy, Cartesian misfits helped shape me into the man I am today. May they help many more still.
