The "train to Flavortown" line is what made me really start laughing. By itself, it might not have been that funny, but the cumulative effect of that and everything before it set me off.
Oh nice. You can't even give Jesse credit for being humorously self-deprecating in an attempt to soothe his tortured soul without the benefit of outside help.
That's exactly the kind of sick cruelty Jesse gets off on, so great work.
Thanks for the break from exposing all the liars in the media, this made me laugh out loud several times. I particularly enjoyed the description of what you do to sofritas.
Dude! How did Lisa manage to spend all this time with you and not even once mention anything about your "unexpected millennial masculinity"? For shame!
This piece, and everything Valerie said about you, are precisely why many of us assured you that we would gladly keep paying you for less output (there’s probably a better way to word that).
I read the Unherd article and I've got to say, it's not well written. I'm not an Unherd critic, I get their daily email digest and read the occasional article, but I expect a little better. "In person, he is physically large and unexpectedly striking. And he displays an equally unexpected millennial masculinity." I kept getting tripped up on that like a needle skipping on a record. Or, "Talking to him reminds me that Democrats were once very good projecting ownership of superior facts." I mean, I know what she's saying, but what awkward phrasing. What the hell is "projecting ownership"? Anyway, it's great that Jesse is getting recognition. If only more journalists displayed the same intellectual humility, evidence-based reasoning, and unexpected millennial masculinity, we'd have journalism better projecting ownership of superior insights. Er, you know what I mean.
Was Jesse Singal the Chipotle of liberal punditry?
He's... a fairly solid rebounder
I don't understand why you didn't just have Katie write a profile. She would have torn you apart. :)
He couldn't pay her enough, presumably.
He probably didn't want to go *that* far in the opposing direction, haha.
Multiple instances of cry-laughing throughout this piece. Will revisit multiple times over the coming years when I need a quick pick-me-up.

I would read a short novel about the life and times of this character, so long as Katie was the editor.
UnHerd? I'm waiting for the writeup in Tiger Beat WITH LIFE-SIZED POSTER
But with the same pink and purple lighting on his face, now extending down to his cargo shorts
That'll go well with a Simon LeBon haircut, which he desperately needs
Too funny. I'm thinking Maurer must have helped in some way.

No.. but both guys are funny AF😂
DURING PRIDE
I’m here to ask for at least one humor piece per month. I was LMAOIng as if I were Michael Hobbes. (I am not Hobbes.)
Fair... and balanced.
Valerie seems sweet on you. Take "unexpectedly striking" and run with it!
I started cry laughing at "because of what happened last time"

I've been told that I display an unexpected Gen X masculinity.
That was fucking wonderful.
Loved this... had me laughing out loud several times
